Last Friday Nebula Coworking hosted a networking happy hour to which I was invited. I was so excited to go see it in person! And when I GOT there, I was blown away by what is going on.
There are smart people out there that love new media so much and have become so good at moving around in these dimensions that they don’t have to be trained to look for some metric or number to determine an “influencer.” They can infer these things through casual conversation and intelligent research when someone pops onto their radar that has a different energy. “Inferencers” for the influencers, if you will.
Two demographics seem to have taken this recession the hardest in terms of facing and coping with job loss and job seeking: the Boomers who were in a set career for many, many years, and the wee Millennials. But difficulty really can be a blessing. Like a fire refines and melts away the dross. As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Many young folk are struggling against the economy right now and there are a lot of skills that many don’t have but need in order to find those sparse prospects, accept many rejections, and yet still keep showing up for more.
